In cooperation with Deutsche Bahn Connect, Mazda and Lidl, we started a really big project. Together with these partners, we want to make carsharing, the sustainable mobility trend, available in all areas of Germany. To achieve this, we will integrate 850 vehicles from Mazda into the carsharing fleet of Flinkster (DB Connect), Germany's leading provider of station-based carsharing.
The 850 Mazda vehicles are bookable via two different platforms: Mazda enters the national carsharing market as part of the cooperation and now offers its own platform with the Mazda Carsharing app provided by Choice. In addition, Flinkster customers can book the additional cars as usual via the Flinkster app. For this purpose, the IT booking systems of Deutsche Bahn Connect and Choice were linked.
In order to provide the Mazda vehicles at attractive locations for our customers, we work together with various location partners. One of these partners is the supermarket chain Lidl, which provides customer parking spaces exclusively for the carsharing vehicles. Thus, nothing stands in the way of spontaneous, large-scale groceries shopping.
Successful community-driven carsharing services have made it clear: A close network of relevant operators leads to a successful carsharing model - even in rural areas. In cooperation with DB Connect, Mazda and Lidl, we transfer this concept to a commercial context with a comprehensive offer.
